  • Will I be able to update my website once it is done?

    Yes, we take great pride in this fact.

     

    Your site will be built using the latest evolution in Content Management System web site design. Once your site is completed, you can easily update your content by using a web browser. This is a perfect alternative for today's busy business owners.

  • Why do I need a website?

    There's no question that a Web site is more critical for some businesses than others.

    Companies who need to reach customers in different locations or who have products that can be shipped to customers, obviously need to have an online presence. But local businesses can also can benefit from a Web site that shows their location, lists their services or offers special promotions.

     

    For those of you who think you don't need a web site because you serve other businesses rather than retail consumers. consider this: Many businesses search for suppliers online, then order from them that way. If you want more customers, you should be online, regardless of your industry.

  • What is a domain name?

    A domain name is the address that people use to find your company online; it's what they type in the browser's address bar to go to your website.

     

    There are many companies that provide domains, but definitely shop around for the best price. Generally, a domain costs about about $30.00 - $35.00 a year, so if you find a company charging a higher rate, definitely see what additional services they are providing in that fee.

     

    Domains are purchased on a first come, first serve basis, so you may find that the domain name you want is already taken.

  • What do I need to have a website?

    There are 3 essential things you need to have a website:

    • a Domain name
    • a Web host
    • Content and images for your pages
  • How much does it cost?

    How much a site costs to design depends on a number of factors:

    • the number of pages
    • the number of images to be used
    • if website requires a photo gallery
    • if website requires a shopping cart
    • If hosting/domain purchase is required

    Generally a website can cost anywhere from between $1800 - $6000 depending on the bells & whistles it requires.

  • Do you provide web hosting?

    Yes, as of February 1/2011 we now provide affordable web hosting with all of our plans. For more information visit our web hosting page.

  • Do you provide support after the web site is completed?

    Yes, we provide 1 month of free email support.

    This support is provided to assist our customers in becoming familiar with updating their own sites, not for our staff to be providing additional web updates. If you require our staff to continue to provide support for your site, additional fees with be charged.

  • Do you have update or maintenance packages available?

    Of course, though most of our clients prefer to do their updates themselves.

  • Do you have a monthly payment plans available?

    No, at this time, we do not have a monthly payment plan for our website design packages.

     

    Our Payment Terms are as follows:

     

    We require a 50% downpayment once we start your site design. We accept E-Transfers or a cheque for this. On the day that your site goes live, we will require the final 50% be paid in full.

  • My website doesn't work anymore, can you fix it?

    Well, that's a good question but my question to you would be: Have you got a current backup of your site?

     

    If you don't, my quick answer is no. Unless you have a backup, your site can't be restored. That is why it is essential for you to always keep a current backup of your site, just in case something goes wrong. Joomla sites are very easy to backup using an extension called Akeeba. If you are not using this backup extension on your Joomla site, you should be.

     

    WordPress also has some backup plugins that are very effective and it is highly recommended that prior to doing any upgrades on a WordPress site, a backup should be done.

     

    In all likelihood, if you have a backup you will probably never need to use it but if you don't, you may be sorry if your site becomes corrupted or gets hacked. Be aware and be smart. Backups are essential when you have a website.

  • What do I need to provide to you?

    In order to start to work on your new site, we will need the following:

    Domain website address – This can be purchased through Xpression Webs if you do not have one in place.

      1. If you have a domain address we will require the following to access your domain name servers:
        1. Website of your domain host
        2. Username / Password – to access your domain records
    1. Hosting website address – This can be purchased through Xpression Webs if you do not have a hosting account in place.
      1. If you have a hosting account in place we will require the following to access your hosting account:
        1. Website of your hosting account
        2. Username/Password – to access your hosting records
    2. In order to expedite your website design, the following items will be required:
      1. Your logo in the highest quality possible (.png, .pdf – Transparent backgrounds preferable)
      2. Any marketing materials you have currently in place in digital format. Example: Business cards, brochures etc.
      3. Colour choices you would prefer
      4. Keywords or keyword phrases that you would like to optimize your website for
      5. Navigation Structure What main menus you would like plus any sub menu drop downs you would like.
      6. Content for each page Please ensure that keywords are indicated throughout content pages. (Word format preferable.)
      7. Images – Any image supplied to us should be owned by customer if you do not have images, stock photos can be purchased for you at an additional cost.
      8. Additional service you require: Example: Photo galleries, Shopping Cart, Online Forms, Social Media setup
    3. A deposit cheque of 50% of the quoted fee. The remainder will be required once the site is live. This deposit will ensure that your site is given priority.
    4. A preferable deadline date: We will ensure that your site is developed within this time period, however, if this deadline date is not met due to lack of customer submission, additional fees could be charged to the customer.
